Parent Ed Talk: Nurturing to Independence - Nov 18, 2019

Twain PTSA, in partnership with LWSD and Lake Washington PTSA Council is excited to host the parent education talk - Nurturing to Independence. This presentation focuses on the importance of giving children responsibility from a young age. By giving children a sense of purpose and responsibility, they can increase self-mastery which, in turn, increases self-esteem.

Coach Sheri from Teen Wise will discuss the struggle with letting our kids discover their independence while still maintaining their safety. Together, you will explore how to safely foster our kids’ independence gauging readiness, setting limits, giving appropriate consequences, and using contracts. You will explore issues that come with hanging out with friends, sleepovers, internet, extracurricular activities, grades, and pseudo-dating.

Date/Time: Monday, November 18th, 7:00-8:30pm
Location: Mark Twain Elementary Cafeteria
Address: 9525 130th Ave NE, Kirkland WA 98033

All LWSD parents are welcome to attend.
