Seeking Ideas to Improve Pedestrian, Bicycle, and Auto Safety

Suggest a safety project idea to North Rose Hill Neighborhood Association!
Do you have an idea for a project that could improve pedestrian, bicycle and/or auto safety in your neighborhood? Or maybe you've been thinking about a concept for an improvement that would make it safer for children to walk, bike or ride the bus to school?
Submit your great ideas for the 2024 Neighborhood Safety Program (NSP) by November 28th. North Rose Hill Neighborhood Association will select two to submit to the NSP. The NSP energizes our neighborhood association by empowering them to work collaboratively with City staff to identify, prioritize and address safety improvements in Kirkland. Each year there is a total of $350,000 available for projects citywide under $75,000. Projects fall into the following categories...

Bobcat Grams for Bobcat Thespians

What better way to congratulate your budding actor than to send a congratulatory note and a flower to your star! Purchase a Space Pirate Bobcat Gram and you'll do just that.

Do you have friends or family that would love to send their well wishes, but aren't able to attend a performance? They can send a Bobcat Gram with flower!

Bobcat Grams that are purchased online by November 19th will be printed and delivered at the Cast Party. And don't forget, purchase play tickets by November 19 before prices go up!

Join a School Committee

The school is looking for parents interested in joining one of their committees. Please see this message from Principal Goodfellow:

At Twain we are looking to increase parent participation in our school committees: Equity, Safety, Restorative Practices, Assemblies & School-wide Celebrations. Our regular schedule is to meet in the mornings before school (8:00-8:55), typically on a Thursday. We are also looking for those we could reach out to when making decisions. Play Tickets on Sale Now

Space Pirate Tickets & Bobcat Grams are on sale now. Act quickly as tickets are limited and we have sold out in the past. Tickets are $8 each when purchased online by Tuesday, November 19th. At the door, ticket prices go up to $10 each. Bobcat Grams are $2, or $5 with a flower. Read on for details.

WSPTA: Top 5 Issues for 2025-2026

WSPTA Legislative AssemblyPTA leaders from across Washington participated in the WSPTA Legislative Assembly at the end of October. During this event, they discussed and voted on the top 5 legislative issues that the WA State PTA should focus on when working with the Washington State Legislature during the next two years.

WSPTA Top Five Legislative Issues for 2025-2026:

  1. Closing the Funding Gaps
  2. Addressing the Student Mental Health Crisis
  3. Addressing Funding, Inclusion and Supports in Special Education
  4. Preventing and Reducing Gun Violence and Suicide
  5. Expanding School Construction Funding Options
