Membership FAQ
What is Twain PTSA?
Twain PTSA is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the education and well-being of all Twain students at home, school, and in the community.
What can I do to help enhance my student’s education?
A key way to show support and involvement is by becoming a PTSA member. Your membership helps support valuable programs that Twain Elementary otherwise could not afford. Through PTSA membership you can participate in your child’s education by volunteering for a committee, attending meetings, voting on important PTSA decisions, and providing ideas and feedback. Whatever level of involvement you choose, your time and efforts shows your child that you care about their education.
Why is membership important?
The more members we have, the more support the children in your school and community will receive.
Who can become a member?
Anyone that cares about our students can become a member! That means parent, teachers, relatives, friends, community members, students and more.
How do I join?
Joining is simple! Just click here to join.
What are the benefits of joining?
Twain PTA benefits parents as well as students/staff/school. PTSA events are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind. Joining the PTSA also means you get a “VOICE and a VOTE” in helping shape the education of your child at Twain Elementary. Every dollar we spend is debated and voted on by the membership at our meetings.
Individuals can take advantage of a host of benefits from PTA membership including:
- Exclusive access to our online student directory, searchable and accessible at this website as well as the Membership Toolkit app on your mobile phone - making it easier to connect with classmates and new friends.
- Special edition Bobcat Vinyl sticker for members only!
- Fast pass admission to all PTSA events
- Early member access to after school registration
- Access to WA and National PTA discounts.
Membership scholarships are available. Please email DEI@twainptsa.org for information. All requests are handled confidentially.
Where does my membership fee go?
Your membership fee funds State and National PTA efforts that advocate for safer laws and better educational programs.
Where do my donations go?
Your donation funds important programs and events for Twain teachers and students, and family events that build a connected community.
Do I have to volunteer?
As a member, there is absolutely no obligation to volunteer. Of course, if you are interested to explore volunteer opportunities, we encourage you to submit an online volunteer interest form or contact our Volunteer Chair directly. We have a wide range of volunteer opportunities and there is always something that will suit your interests, skills and availability.
How can I keep updated on PTSA information, activities and events?
We use a variety of ways to keep you informed – through this website, our weekly Bobcat Blurb email newsletter, Facebook and Instagram. We'd also love to see you at an upcoming General Membership Meeting!
What if I have more questions?
