A few weeks ago, each Twain class experienced original art first-hand thanks to our team of docents and the NW Art Project.

Many thanks to Nicki Schulman, NW Art Project Program Lead for all you do! This includes creating an amazing presentation, leading the docent training, providing talking points, and doing so much to make this year's program a huge success! To Malaika Silliker, who served as second in command leading 2 days of discussions, helping set up and take down the exhibit, and just being a crucial support, thank you! To Ms. Vold for advocating for the program, hosting the exhibit, and the years of continued support for this program, thank you!

Thank you to docents who lead and assisted lessons before mid-winter break: Nicki Schulman, Malaika Silliker, Katie Harris, Natalie Drennon, Sam Arguez, Eliza Grant, Parvoneh Neilsen, Candace Dalton, Tricia Heber, Sarah De La Cruz, Janani Kartik, Katia Shylovska, Todd Harris, Kristina Leonard, Lori-Anne Foster, Divya Awasthi, Robyn Howard, Yohan Mammen, Wan Ju Wei, Miri Villegas, Tonya Scharpenberg, Maria Gallegos, Josee Amyot, McGinnes Ladd, and Mitra Soltani.

The NW Art Project is a traveling art exhibit made possible by the Junior League of Seattle. The Collection specializes in original Northwest art and includes Northwest masters such as Glen Alps, Joan Stuart Ross, Diane Katsiaficas, Jack Chevalier, Jack Portland, Michael Spafford, William Cumming, Jacob Lawrence, and more. This unique program enables students and teachers to experience an art museum in a school. This year students viewed, and discussed Exhibit 10: Abstract & People in Art.
