Reflections: Call for Entries & After School Workshop

9/28/2023 6:00 am

Reflections is a National PTA arts in education program started in 1969 and is the largest arts program of its kind in the United States.

Students have the opportunity to use their creative talents to express themselves through their own original works created around the theme "I Am Hopeful Because …".

Reflections is not “just an art contest.” It helps kids take risks, be inspired, think creatively, and be celebrated for their creativity and work.

Original entries may be submitted in the following categories:

  • Dance Choreography
  • Film Production
  • Literature
  • Music Composition
  • Photography
  • Visual Arts
  • Special Artist

Students may work on projects at home or at our optional After School Workshops being held in the Twain cafeteria.

This is a free dedicated time for students to brainstorm ideas and complete a project from start to finish. Basic art supplies will be provided as a starting point, but we encourage students to bring in any additional materials they may need to complete their projects. This is a volunteer-chaperoned event, but all work must be original to the student.

Please consider registering your student for ALL 3 workshop days, so that they may work on projects from start to finish. The last day to register for the workshop is 10/7. The deadline for entries is 11/1/23.

All students MUST submit a digital entry form as well as a hard copy entry form to the Main Office with the original piece of art. All works will be displayed at the LWSD Resource Center Open House in January and at our own Gallery Walk in June. Entries moving on to Council, State and National levels will be announced throughout the year.
