June PTSA Meeting Recap
Principal Goodfellow shared a number of updates:
- Our new AP, Audrey Gallagher, is coming from Rockwell Elementary. Class sizes for next year were discussed with the 4th grade having the largest amount of students per classroom (30/31), due to decreasing numbers of enrollment at the school.
- Combination grade glasses were discussed but will not be implemented next year.
- Ms. Goodfellow continued prior discussions about field trips and the goals surrounding them for next year while acknowledging bus schedules are a challenge due to the bus driver shortage.
- Ms. Goodfellow is hoping to implement more school-wide celebrations next year (ie. Career Day, Field Day, 100th Day, etc.) to fill in these unique experiences for the kids.
- Finally, next year’s 5th grade 2 day camp was discussed, which the parents of that grade have worked hard to create. This will be something that will hopefully be continued and grown in the coming years.
At the General Membership Meeting (also called PTSA Meeting)...
- Kim Christensen was nominated from the floor and approved to be Co-VP3. We still have one open spot on the board – Co-VP2. If anyone is interested, please contact molly@twainptsa.org.
- Some amendments to the current 2023-24 budget were approved which created a new line item for Field Day and increased Explore Art, Awards and Recognition, and Website line items.
- Next year’s 2024-2025 proposed budget was presented and approved, as well as the Standards of Affiliation and Standing Rules for 2024-2025.
- Finally, the PTSA presented awards to various people for all their work this year. A big thank you to all our volunteers this year and we look forward to seeing you all next year!
