Explore Art Docent Training-- Docents Still Needed

9/17/2024 12:10 pm

The Explore Art program brings art education to every classroom at Twain.

The curriculum introduces the 7 elements of art and provides a foundation for future art exploration. It is a purely volunteer-led program that is sponsored by Twain PTSA.

We are looking for willing volunteers who would like to be a part of their child's art enrichment and build connection with their classmates and teacher. NO ART EXPERIENCE NEEDED.

Volunteers will receive training on September 26 from 6-8 pm in the Twain Library to become art docents who facilitate pre-planned, grade-level appropriate lessons in art elements, principles and techniques.

Art encourages creativity, fine motor skills, problem solving, neural connections and processing of emotions.

The lessons occur monthly and culminate in an exhibition at the end of the school year called the Gallery Walk, where families can visit and enjoy a gallery filled with paintings, drawings, clay sculptures, and other works of art created by our students.
