It Was an Enchanting Book Fair!

2/8/2025 9:08 am

Thank you to so many people for making this year's Scholastic Book Fair such a success! Special thanks to Ms. Cathy for her extra effort and diligence as first-time Book Fair Team Lead! Well done!

Thanks too to PTSA VPs McGinnes Ladd and Kim Christensen for supporting Ms. Cathy’s first time in this PTSA leadership role.

And the decorations!  The words “thank you” don’t begin to cover our appreciation of the amazing decorations by McGinnes Ladd and Ti’Erra Caldwell Wilson.  Just outstanding!  The Kindy classes had fun guessing which stories Ti’Erra’s directional signs came from, and McGinnes’ tree was a popular photo op for parents with their kids.   The tree has found a home in the library, and we’ll be voting on a name in the near future.

A special thank you to Heather Scott for coming in each day to make sure all our pennies added up in our cash drawer.  It definitely takes some extra effort to have cash at an event, but when students arrive with the crumpled dollars from their pockets, there is no question that it makes the extra effort worthwhile.

Thank you to the volunteers who set up the fair, staffed the cash registers, and helped the fair stay organized and flowing smoothly.  The book fair couldn’t happen without you.  Appreciation goes to Audrey Adler, Beth DeGrace, Jessica Lake, Cynthia Yeager, Heather Scott, Chris Boehnen, Clara Sotelo, Tricia Heber, Ti’Erra Caldwell Wilson, Parvoneh Neilsen, Kim Christensen, Alex De Obeso, Amanda Jackson, Molly Honig, McGinnes Ladd, Malaika Silliker, and Maria Gallegos.

Honorable mention goes to Clara Boehnen, Rudy Thum, and Levi Wilson for the hours (and sometime hours) of time they spent waiting for their grownups, and to Saunders Bell for helping mom make the amazing tree.

Last but not least, THANK YOU to all the families who were able to support the book fair with a purchase or two.  We were able to raise over $6000 in Scholastic credit for our library, which makes a huge difference in the diversity of books the library can offer.
